Design Ron Gilad for Flos Concept The Goldman table lamp in Black provides an excellent direct light. This is a modern interpretation of the classic banker’s lamp. The body is made of aluminium with a brass or black finish. The diffuser is made from green or smoke methacrylate, respectively. The foot of the lamp is equipped with Soft Touch technology, which ensures that the lamp can be dimmed. Note that the Goldman table lamp is equipped with a USB port on its base, so there’s no excuse to leave the house without charge on your phone or tablet. “Banker’s lamps are some of the earliest electrical lamps. They were made as early as the 1800s. The body was typically made of brass and adorned with a green glass lampshade, which worked well for diffuse room illumination as well as reading and work light. They were originally used by bankers who had long workdays, spent looking at small numbers. They needed extra light on their desks to make their work easier. ‘Goldman’ is named after the investment bank and is the next step in the development process of the traditional lamp, injected with high tech and clean lines."
